Very amusing. :) I think my favorite so far was "Amazing Fish Vending Machine and Arcade Games". :)

I think my web browser accidentally voted multiple times on the same names, though. I'm using Opera 10.00. I was voting sometimes, and reloading most other times once I realized I didn't have to vote on each one.

After a while, I started to notice that every time I reloaded the page (without intentionally voting again), the "Thanks for the vote!" text was still there, and the number of voters was getting increased by one and the average rating stayed the same.

"Thanks for the vote! So far, 2 people have voted, giving that restaurant an average rating of 5 out of 5!"

"Thanks for the vote! So far, 3 people have voted, giving that restaurant an average rating of 5 out of 5!"

(And so on...)

If you have any suggestions, put them in the forum :) It’s particularly hard to think of “place” names (like “bar”/”lounge”/”kitchen”/”garden” etc.)

Maybe this reverse dictionary will help: http://www.onelook.com/reverse-dictionary.shtm

Yep, trying to figure out the best way to make it so refreshing works naturally... I'd rather not mess around with sticking "&vote=5&name=blah" on the URL and I'd rather avoid using cookies for something like this :P

Glad you like it :) The "vending machine" ones tend to create some fantastic mental imagery.. "Tokyo Sushi Vending Machine and Capsule Hotel" O_O :D

Oops, I left the 'l' off the end of the URL, and didn't make it a hyperlink.

Trying to make it a hyperlink:

Maybe tracking the user's IP address and making sure the same IP can't vote twice for the same name would work?

Haha, yes. :) I love random generators. :)

By the way, you're welcome to delete my post with the non-working HTML link, along with this post, and/or to fix my original post's URL if you want. (Or not; whatever you prefer is fine with me).

Silly of me to assume that HTML might work when clearly there is some support for standard message board code. :) [url=http://www.onelook.com/reverse-dictionary.shtml]http://www.onelook.com/reverse-dictionary.shtml[/url]

Sorry for the slight messiness, I'd fix this stuff myself if I could edit/delete my own posts. :) I'll try to edit more carefully in advance in the future.

Awesome site, thanks for everything. :)

Oops, the [url] tag didn't work! I thought it would work, because quote tags were working. Sorry again for the mess!! Bye...

Hehe, I haven't installed full BBCode yet, but just stuck in a temporary bandaid check to handle quoting. *Hangs head in shame and takes a trip to Gengi's Happy Seppuku Whale Grill*

In retrospect, deciding to program the forums 100% from raw scratch, probably wasn't that great an idea ;D sure have learned a lot from it though ;)
