Hello :) I am launching a free newsletter, in which I’ll publish some exclusive content once every month or two. I decided to do this as a way to reward my long-term readers, giving them an “inside scoop” beyond what the general public has access to, as well as providing a way for me to better keep in touch with readers.

The page to subscribe to the newsletter is here.

I’ve been wanting to set up a newsletter for awhile and I’m glad I finally got around to it. Now to start thinking about what to publish in the first issue… ;)

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I followed your link back here, clicked “View All Articles” and WOW you have so many titles I’m interested in it’s uncanny. I’m in a hurry, so please excuse my bad grammar but I’d like to run down some possible similarities or points of possible common interest, because I’ve never seen anyone with quite so many 共通点:

Perhaps most importantly, I’ve spent most of my free time throughout my life thinking carefully about all sorts of unusual things that I supposed no one else thinks about. I have a degree in pure math, summa cum laude, where I minored in Japanese and actually spent a lot more time on the Japanese. Since then I’ve lived in Japan 8 years and continued studying on my own (now nearly native especially in terms of reading, have been working as a translator and passed Kanji Kentei 準2級 (average level of Japanese adult) five years ago: http://www.kanken.or.jp/frame2/mondai_list.html ), while doing pickup and thinking and studying about all sorts of things. Other interests that may coincide are linguistics/semantics/qualia-related, logic, philosophy, thinking without words, direct mind-to-mind communication and its applications, recently started lifting, personal development starting with Brian Tracy when I was 11, radically better game making, radically better education through games, political systems, music composition/listening/music addiction, “universal radio” (amazing music that plays in your head that comes from nowhere and you’ve never heard before)…言い出したら切りがないから…

So I’m going to read these articles with fascination, because I think you may share many of my most unusual interests. I’m glad you decided to write articles on so many eclectic and uncovered topics. I have several gigs of audio notes recorded on a voice recorder that would be seeds for articles like these, and this is inspiring me to write on more of them – not just on pickup.

In the meantime, if you ever have a quirky question about Japanese, feel free to ask!
